I. Introduction
GRASCAR (The GeneRally Association for Stock Car Automobile Racing) is an open-ended championship. To enter a race, just follow these rules to be scored for the results. The following text is the official rules of the competition.
II. Getting Started
To begin participating in GRASCAR, go to the Downloads page and download the Season Package. Follow the instructions. It is important that you either:
a) use this downloaded version of GeneRally for racing, as it has been specially set up for GRASCAR, or
b) use a fresh installation of GeneRally with the options set as described below.

III. Team Racing
It is an option for this Season to race in a team of up to three drivers. This is not required to participate in GRASCAR. To form a team, send your team name and driver names (make sure you identify who is the team captain) using PM function at RSC forums or these forums, or using the contact link provided on the links page. You may form a team with one driver, but teams with only one driver may be removed by the season start date if other drivers are not found. To join an open team, use the GRASCAR Forum Teams thread or the official GRASCAR thread at the RSC forums to request joining a team, and the team captain will post a reply saying whether or not you have been accepted into the team. Adding and removing teams and drivers may be done at any point during the season, however we ask that creating teams be done before the season if possible.
Inactive teams may be removed from the team standings.

IV. Race Setup
If it’s your first time racing in GRASCAR, open the Season Package’s version of GeneRally. Create yourself as a driver with whatever colors and controls you want. The standard settings on the main Options menu are already set, and you must use only those for a GRASCAR race. The settings are as follows:
- Tyre wear: 13%
- Fuel consumption: 10%
- Fuel mass: 100%
- Damage: 20%
- Race length: 10 kilometers
NOTE: Please note that the UC series has diferent settings
- Damage: 10%
- Race length: 5 kilometers
- Only 4 AI
You may change any settings on the Advanced Options screen except for the game speed.
Game speed must be set at 100% or higher!
When you start a race, make sure the Race length is set at 10 kilometers. Put your driver in the first row, and the 5 AI drivers in the remaining slots, as shown in this image:

V. Car Setups
GRASCAR has four different car setups. NOTE: The AI Cars must use the same setup that you do in a race. If you change the setup you use, you must change the AI setups to match. If you drive different setup than the AI, you will be punished as specified in section IX. The car types are:

VI. Racing
Once the settings, your car, and the AI cars are ready to go, left-click the track you’re racing on and click Start to begin racing. Saving and reloading during a race is forbidden. However, you can save your position in the starting grid but as soon as green lights go on, you may not save or reload.
After all the cars (including the AI) have crossed the start/finish line for the last time and the results screen has appeared, hit ESC and save the game using the format [Race#_Yourname]. “01_DriverX” would be an example for the first race of the season. Then press F11 (not F12) to take a 640x480 .bmp screenshot of the results screen.

Then press F11 (not F12) to take a 640x480 .bmp screenshot of the results screen.
NOTICE: If the screenshot doesn't show starting grid skidmarks, the submission will be DQ'd!
Rename the screenshot to match the .gam file. Take the .bmp screenshot and the .gam file (make sure their names match and they are both for the correct track), and put them in one .zip file (name it the same as the screenshot and .gam file). Open up the GRASCAR website and click “Submit”. Make sure you submit the race files before the deadline for that race.
You may race as many times as you want, but only the last submited file will be considered.
NOTICE Regarding .zip and .rar files: We ask that all drivers try to use .zip files. GRASCAR is able to receive files in the .rar compression format, but it takes more work to extract .rar than .zip. However, if you have a slow connection and the .rar format gives you smaller files, .rar is your best option.

The Restrictor Plate setup is slower than the rest, it is meant for use only at special restrictor plate races. Teams do not have to use the same setups for each human driver. For example, DriverX can use the Regular setup and teammate DriverY can use the Tight setup. It doesn’t matter.
VII. Deadlines
The deadline for each track is posted on the “Schedule” page. The server time is posted at the top of the website. Files may be sent in at any time before the corresponding track’s deadline, regardless of which track is “next.”
Remember that in order to race a specific track you will need to request a racing code for that track before the race deadline shown in the “Schedule” page.
Once you get a racing code you will have 180 minutes to submit your files, if you don't you'll get a BOP penalty.
After the initial 180 minutes, you will get a BOP penalty but will still be able to submit a race within 24 hours of requesting your code. If you do not submit a race, you'll be DQ.
VIII. Points
Driver points will be given for each race. These points will be given by average speed. The best 12 drivers of the race receive points as follows:
1st - 180; 2nd - 175; 3rd - 171; 4th - 167; 5th - 163; 6th - 160; 7th - 157; 8th - 154; 9th - 151; 10th - 148; 11th - 146; 12th - 144; 13th etc. -2 points (The drivers outside the top 10 always receive 2 points less than the previous driver.)
The driver with the fastest lap of all the drivers will receive a 5-point FastLap™ bonus. Up to three drivers can get the bonus if they tie for the fastest lap. If four or more drivers tie for fastest lap, the bonus will not be awarded. There is no AI bonus this season.

VIII. (b) Team Points
A separate standings will be set up for team points. All the team members score points for their team. Bonus points will not be included in the team points.
IX. Penalties
While we want all drivers to have fun during races, there are occasional times where a driver may have overstepped the boundaries of the rules, either accidental or on purpose. Keeping that in mind, GRASCAR has established set penalties for bending or breaking of the rules. The offenses have been divided to minor, major and disqualification.
IX. (a) Minor offenses will carry an automatic drop 10 positions, they are:
- using wrong AI setups
- using incorrect game settings
- using incorrect file names when submiting
- wrong screenshot size
- shortcutting the pits during a race
- not using SafePitted surface when pitting
- driving incidents with adjacent pitcrews / driving thru pit crews

IX. (d) Other offenses
Any behavior on GRASCAR message boards or the GRASCAR thread(s) @ RSC which suggests the driver gaining an unfair advantage during racing, or violating GRASCAR message board rules, will be punished appropriately at the discretion of the administrators.
IX. (e) Penalty apeals
Drivers can apeal any minor or major penalty decision they receive, by sending the GRASCAR admin an email within 48 hours of the results being posted.
While the apeal is being investigated the driver may not in any way discuss the nature of the penalty and apeal process (ex. by posting in a forum). If they do so they will automatically be disqualified from the race.
